Barrington School of Dublin
Meet Our Director:
Amy Slaughenhoupt

My name is Amy Slaughenhoupt, and I am proud to lead the Barrington School of Tara Hill. One of the main reasons I was drawn to Barrington is that it is family owned and operated, a quality that instantly made it feel like the right place to call my second home. Since joining the company, I have felt a deep sense of support and alignment with Barrington’s core belief that every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment to grow and learn.
I have been working in early childhood education since 2008 and consider it the most rewarding career. I began my Barrington journey in 2016 as a Lead Infant Teacher and later spent time leading a Young Toddler classroom. Through these experiences, I have developed a strong appreciation for the importance of quality group care, routine, and consistency in the lives of young children. I believe in empowering teachers, fostering curiosity, and creating a joyful learning environment where every child can thrive.
As Director, I strive to build strong connections between administration, teachers, and families. I am dedicated to cultivating a community where families feel welcomed, supported, and confident in their child’s care and education. I love collaborating with families to meet their children’s unique needs and supporting teachers as they create meaningful bonds that last a lifetime. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child’s eyes light up as they make a discovery, build a friendship, or take pride in their accomplishments.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with my husband and spending time with our dog, Stella, who brings endless joy to our days. With two adult sons now out of the house, I find great fulfillment in spending my days with my Barrington family. Choosing childcare is an important and personal decision, and my door is always open. I invite you to stop by, meet our team, and see what makes our school so special.
