The Importance of Transparency in Childcare and How We Do It Right

If you can’t be with your child the entire day, the next best thing is enrolling your child in a daycare that makes you feel like you’re right there with them.

As parents ourselves, we understand wanting to stay informed on everything as it relates to our child’s well-being. It's what reassures us that they’re safe and cared for, but also what makes us feel connected to them while we’re at work, running errands, or taking care of other children.

That is why we emphasize transparency with our families, ensuring they know what their child is experiencing when they’re in our care.

How We Stay Connected with Parents

Procare App

We also prioritize open, proactive communication with parents throughout the day. Through our ProCare app, parents receive digital daily reports with real-time updates on their child’s day, including:

  • When, what, and how much they eat

  • When and how long they nap

  • When they have a bathroom break/diaper change

  • What lessons and activities they’re enjoying throughout the day

“One aspect we greatly appreciated was how the teachers actively kept parents engaged by taking photos throughout the day... It allowed us to feel special, stay in the know for what our son was learning and experiencing at school, while also providing us with valuable memories of his early years—unique moments captured and saved for the future.” - David C.

With many of our updates, we include pictures of your little one because, well, you can never have too many photos! We love capturing the moments that make their day special for families to see, whether it’s playing with friends, singing during music class, or exploring arts and crafts.

“We love the daily updates and photos, which give us a detailed glimpse into his day and reassure us that he’s doing well and is happy.” - Audrey D.

Our app also allows parents to easily send messages to our main office staff or directly to the teachers leading the classroom. This comes especially in handy on busy mornings when drop-off is rushed, and you didn’t have time to chat or forgot to mention something.

While taking care of your little ones is our top priority, we strive to respond to any in-app messages as quickly as possible so that you feel comfortable and informed.

“As a first-time mom, sending your baby to daycare is scary, but the staff has made the transition easy. . . I love getting updates about him throughout the day on the app. They are also very responsive to questions about your child throughout the day. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for infant care.” - Szabo I.

Classroom Gatherings and Events

Another way we stay connected with our Barrington families is by giving them opportunities to step inside the environment their child spends their day in.

Throughout the year, we hold monthly classroom gatherings to celebrate special days like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Thanksgiving. We also have a yearly ‘Classroom Connection’ event where teachers walk through their favorite activities and lessons they use in their classrooms. These events give our families opportunities to experience our curriculum firsthand and see the moments that fill their child’s day. It’s also a time for genuine connection, allowing parents to build relationships with the teachers who care for, guide, and support their children each day.

Prioritizing open communication and connection with our families is ultimately what helps us make sure their children get the best care possible. We will always welcome questions and feedback, because no one knows your child like you do. And when teachers and parents work together, your child benefits from a more consistent routine, stronger support, and an environment where they feel understood.

Transparency is a Part of the Barrington Culture

We also prioritize strong communication internally to ensure your child gets consistent care throughout the day. Our teachers and staff regularly share notes and updates with one another so that important details, like changes in routine or milestones, don’t get missed.
