“Each day I drop my daughter off I know she is in the best hands”

In every Barrington School, safety isn’t something we check off a list; it’s built into everything we do...starting before a staff member ever steps into one of our schools. As part of onboarding, our team members complete several required health and safety courses. Many of these trainings are state-required and ensure that both teachers and administrative staff are fully prepared from day one.

We believe the best approach is to be prepared before something happens, so when it matters most, we can respond thoughtfully and keep every child safe.

CPR and First Aid Training

We require employees to become CPR and First Aid certified within 90 days of their start date at Barrington. We also hold quarterly refresher training to help keep skills fresh and maintain a safe environment. Trainings cover CPR techniques for infants, children, and adults, along with common emergency situations, ensuring our team knows how to respond to unexpected situations with confidence.

Every member of our team, teachers and administrative staff alike, is required to take this training. This ensures that in every room there is someone who can step in and act as a first responder if an emergency arises. We also encourage parents to participate in these trainings and become certified in life-saving skills alongside our staff.

Staying Ahead of Illness

When you work in early childhood education, you’re bound to see just about every bug in the book, from colds and the flu to pink eye and hand, foot, and mouth. And while getting sick is just a normal part of growing up, we put a strong focus on keeping our classrooms as healthy as possible.

That all starts with preparation. During onboarding, Barrington staff are trained to recognize the early signs of communicable illnesses, understand how they spread, and know when to take action so we can respond quickly and help limit the spread. We also follow daily cleaning and sanitizing routines, encourage good handwashing and healthy habits, and keep a close eye on how children are feeling throughout the day.

If concerns come up, we communicate openly with parents so they always know what’s going on and what steps we’re taking. Our goal is to create a safe, comfortable environment where children can learn, play, and thrive...and feel good doing it!

We’re Dedicated to Giving You Peace of Mind

These are just a few of the many trainings our educators complete upon hire, including child abuse recognition, safe sleep awareness, allergy training, and several ethics-based trainings that prepare them for the important responsibility they are about to embark on.  That said, we know that keeping children safe takes more than training alone. It takes consistency, attention to detail, and a team that truly cares about the well-being of every child, which we’re proud to have built here at Barrington.

“There is no better feeling than knowing your child is safe and happy while you are away from them and I'm thankful that the Barrington School provides that for me!” - Haileigh M.

We encourage you to schedule a tour and see for yourself how we create a safe, healthy environment for every child. We want you to feel more than comfortable with where your child is spending their day, and that’s the standard we hold ourselves to.
