Choosing the right early childhood program is one of the most meaningful decisions you can make for your child. At Barrington Schools, we believe education begins long before kindergarten. That is why our curriculum nurtures the whole child, providing a warm, encouraging, and educational setting that nurtures a lifelong enthusiasm for learning.

With locations throughout Central Ohio including Dublin, Powell, Upper Arlington, Worthington, Columbus, Grandview, New Albany, Gahanna, Jerome, and Hilliard - Barrington School is proud to partner with families across every region of Central Ohio.

Cognitive Growth

From infancy through school age, our classrooms are filled with opportunities to explore, question, and discover. Our infants' classrooms place a heavy emphasis on providing continual opportunities for interaction. Preschoolers discover music, dance, yoga and cooking classes.Older children engage in differentiated activities, with a focus on kindergarten readiness skills such as beginning writing, letter recognition, and phonics.

Small class sizes mean every child is seen and celebrated. As one long-term Barrington parent, Jennifer Oliver, shared, “We feel incredibly lucky to have been part of the Barrington School for several years. Our son started there as an infant, graduated from Pre-K, and now he's thrilled to be back for summer camp! The mix of fun and learning through field trips, special guests, creative projects, and outdoor adventures keeps him excited and engaged every day. The staff are warm, attentive, and truly connect with the children in meaningful ways. We're truly grateful to be part of the Barrington community!”

Emotional Development

Emotional well-being is the foundation for lifelong learning.  At Barrington, our educators build trust and teach children how to recognize and express feelings in positive, healthy ways. We emphasize kindness, resilience, and self-confidence so children feel safe to grow into the kind and considerate humans they are meant to be.

Families often describe us as a second home. According to Upper Arlington Mom Karla Kenneday, “I cannot say enough amazing things about this daycare and the incredible staff make it feel like a second home for my son. He’s now 7 and has been attending for the past 3 years, and our experience has been nothing short of wonderful. From day one, the team has gone above and beyond to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where my child has truly thrived.”

Physical Activities

Healthy bodies support healthy minds. That is why we prioritize daily physical activity, outdoor play, and balanced routines that build strength, coordination, and confidence.

Nutrition is also central to our philosophy. Every Barrington location has an on-site chef preparing organic meals that are nutritious and fun. “Fuel feeds growing bodies.” As founder Jessie Hoffman explains “I have made it my mission for all the Barrington Schools to create a warm, nurturing, safe and healthy environment for our children. We have paid attention to all the details in our food program… and we feel the quality of food and diet helps fuel a child’s entire day and impacts learning.”

Social Development

Friendships and teamwork are the building blocks of school readiness at Barrington. Our classrooms are designed for collaboration - whether that is learning to share, problem-solve together, or celebrate a friend’s success. Enrichment programs like music, dance, yoga, and art give children extra chances to explore their creativity while connecting with others.

Cultural Awareness

In today’s world, empathy, and inclusion matter more than ever. Our curriculum celebrates diversity, introducing children to new traditions, perspectives, and voices. Through stories, cultural celebrations, and thoughtful conversations, children learn that kindness and respect are universal languages.
